Phase 1: Bespoke System Design & Site Survey

The foundation of any high-performing commercial HVAC project is a meticulous technical survey. For the Bee & Thistle Game Café in Altrincham, we designed a scalable solution tailored to the unique thermal demands of a high-occupancy hospitality environment.

  • Accurate Thermal Load Calculations: Our engineers assessed the café’s floorplate and extensive glass frontages to specify a system that maintains total climate control without unnecessary energy expenditure.
  • Strategic Layout Planning: We prioritised unit placement at the design stage to ensure uniform airflow across gaming zones and dining areas, eliminating stagnant air pockets.
  • Aesthetic Integration: By selecting sleek, modern hardware, we ensured the installation complemented the café’s interior design while delivering industrial-grade performance.

Phase 2: First-Fix Infrastructure & Positioning

Once the design was finalised, our senior engineers commenced the first-fix stage. This phase focused on the “hidden” infrastructure that dictates long-term system reliability and efficiency.

  • Precision Pipework Routing: Copper refrigeration lines and condensate drains were professionally routed through the building fabric, following clean, parallel lines to ensure a tidy, professional finish.
  • Stable Unit Foundations: Internal mounting plates were secured to reinforced surfaces, providing a perfectly level and vibration-free base for the units.
  • Service Line Containment: All essential services were housed in durable, protective containment to shield them from damage during the café’s wider renovation works.

Phase 3: Second-Fix Installation & Commissioning

The final stage involved the mounting of the high-efficiency hardware and the rigorous commissioning process that differentiates MCR Cooling from “hashed” low-quality installations.

  • Technical Equipment Mounting: Internal and external units were secured using specialised anti-vibration mounts to guarantee whisper-quiet operation—essential for the café’s atmosphere.
  • Advanced Digital Commissioning: We utilised high-precision digital manifolds and conducted oxygen-free nitrogen pressure testing to ensure a hermetically sealed, 100% leak-free circuit.
  • Operational Test Run & Calibration: A comprehensive test run allowed our engineers to calibrate the refrigerant charge precisely, verifying that the system reached peak efficiency and design temperatures.
